Just thought I`d send you an e-mail about the Paramo Viento jacket I puchased from you recently.

I had been a confirmed goretex user for almost 20 years in all it's many forms, but the Viento has changed all that!

I purchased the Viento mainly for backpacking, and having just completed the West Highland Way in "mixed weather" I can say it is a great success. It is by far the most breathable rainwear I have ever used. It has none of the clammy feeling of conventional "membrane" type rainwear even when it spent the night damp in a poly bag, in the morning it was pleasant to put on in the morning. Although heavier than a Paclite jacket, indeed perhaps twice as heavy,this is more than compensated by the extra insulation provided by the Viento. I was able to leave behind a Berghaus Velocity jacket and take a fleece 70grams lighter, plus a windproof wasn't required. A total saving of 450grams and as the Viento is comfortable over such a wide temperature you wear it for so much more of the time. The design of the jacket is excellent, the hood offering good protection and the ability to vent the jacket by opening zips but keeping poppers fastened and of course rolling the sleeves up! A great piece of design is the fact that you can have your hipbelt under the front of the jacket, more comfortable and again helping ventilation.

As I say I'm delighted with the jacket and would recommend one to any one.
